Biodiversity Net Gain in Cornwall Cornwall Council already introduced the requirement for BNG for major developments. From 12 February 2024, BNG became nationally mandated for major developments and for small sites from 2 April 2024. Mandatory BNG is subject to national minimum requirements. Wave Hub Fisheries Mitigation Fund

A small grants fund of £150,000 is available to support the fishing communities affected by the Wave Hub. This fund was set up to benefit the fishing communities in Hayle and St Ives.  Also to some extent Newlyn, where fishing vessels can show that they fish in the waters around the Wave Hub. Planning approval granted for 18 SoloHaus homes in Penzance to help tackle the housing crisis
